Apologies for not being able to play my songs at the moment as it seems that the player that I was using has gone awal :-(

Mine of course :-)

Here are some of the songs that I have written as part of my healing journey.

They could be described as Indie / Acoustic / Folk Rock with some piano ballads.

I hope you enjoy.

And your comments are more than welcome :-)

All the Way...

"The title track on the album “All the way” Starts with the line

I lie awake in my prison cell” ..with just Bill singing over his acoustic guitar.

This heartbreak tune could have been written by Johnny Cash himself, but listen on as the base guitar comes in with the drums, then the harmonica that played in the intro, some superb electric guitar playing by Trevor Nelson, and before you know it your feet are itching to move.

With the drums up and running, and the honky tonk piano of Steve Carrins, you have this combination of painful lyrics of one mans journey, but set over an upbeat and infectious rhythm, with some wonderful question and answer between the lead guitar and piano.

Bill proves that a painful story don’t have to be depressing to listen to.

Eat your heart out Morrisey :-)

But the sense of gratitude for his life, and his freedom,
(not just from a prison cell, but from the addictions that were a part of his life).. just oozes out in the last verse"

"Quite Stunning"!

"You really get the feeling from Bill’s lyrics that he doesn’t take part in the blaming game"

"The honest truth of his life and failings are there for all to see, without a hint of pity, or blame on anyone else"

If you like "Johnny Cash songs" then this is the song for you!

First a Dream

Claire you Said

This is one of the "acoustic guitar-songs" and is a love-song that tells about the loss when people fight over religious bigotry.

In this case, Catholic and Protestant.

Religion was a big thing in the area where I grew up in Scotland and this seemed a fitting song to describe the waste that can happen when people are fighting over one God or another.
